Projects must fit within one of the following six research axes :

  1. Development of new analytical methods to identify emerging refractory contaminants and contribute to understanding of their ecotoxicological impacts
  2. Development of new concepts and technologies to improve existing water and wastewater decontamination systems for urban communities
  3. Development of innovative, efficient, portable, green (no addition of chemicals) technologies adapted to decentralized sanitation
  4. Development of integrated approaches using renewable energy sources for water and wastewater decontamination
  5. Recovery and reuse of resources from wastewater
  6. Use of research equipment to scale up innovative processes for the decontamination of wastewater and effluents
