Objectives of the CREATE–TEDGIEER training program
- To train a new generation of students at the university–industry interface through the development of fundamental and applied research skills to solve real industrial problems (B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D)
- To expand the students’ professional networks to help them connect with the new generation of Canadian innovators
- To create a Canadian and international network of student, academic, and industrial collaborators specialized in environmental decontamination technologies and integrated water and wastewater management
Students enrolled in the CREATE–TEDGIEER program must spend at least 20% of their time in the program in an industrial environment. These industrial internships will give the students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to the resolution of real industrial problems.
Internship duration:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree : 4 months
- Ph.D : 8 months
Professional competencies acquired by the student
- Awareness of current environmental issues
- Advanced knowledge and expertise, and development of a critical point of view on environmental technologies
- Capacity to adapt to changing markets and R&D topics in the field of environmental technologies
- Ability to easily adapt from the academic to the industrial research environment
- Development of scientific and public outreach communication skills
- Development of leadership and project management skills
